Painting No - 01

At the corner of Jain Mandir is situated a long series of Sir Ganga Ram Trust buildings with interesting architectural and decorative elements. The building shows in the painting is around the corner. It has been converted into a multiple residential quarters the entrance to which is seen through a very tall and wide arch. It had a most imposing Jharoka more like the one over Shah Jahan’s sleeping chamber in Lahore Fort. Its elongated half dome had broad leaf formations in stucco relief.  The rectangular projection was supported by red sandstone brackets.

The Jharoka has been demolished.
